The Bottom Line
We don't collect your personal data for advertising, tracking, or selling to third parties. We're not in the business of spying on you. Here's exactly what we do and don't do with your information.
What We Actually Store
If You Create an Account:
- Username: Obviously, since you need to log in
- Password: Encrypted/hashed, we can't see your actual password
- Email (optional): Only if you provide one, used for password recovery
- Political affiliation (optional): Only if you set one, displayed next to your content
- IP address: For basic security and spam prevention
- Login timestamps: When you last signed in
- User preferences: Theme colors, site customizations you choose
For Content You Post:
- Articles/links: Title, URL, text content you submit
- Comments: Whatever you write in comments
- Votes: Which articles/comments you upvote or downvote
- Bookmarks: Articles you bookmark for later
- Timestamps: When you posted stuff
- Country code: Automatically detected from your IP for displaying flags
For Anonymous Submissions:
- The content itself: Article title, URL, text, or comment text
- IP address: For spam prevention and rate limiting (2-minute cooldown)
- Verification data: Altcha proof-of-work to prevent bots
- Country code: Detected from IP for flag display
- That's it. No names, emails, or personal information
What We DON'T Do
- No advertising networks: We don't use Google Ads, Facebook Pixel, or any tracking scripts
- No analytics spying: We don't use Google Analytics or similar tracking tools
- No data selling: We don't sell your data to anyone, ever
- No social media tracking: No Facebook/Twitter/etc. tracking pixels
- No cookies for tracking: Only essential cookies for login sessions
- No email marketing: We won't spam your inbox
- No data mining: We don't analyze your behavior for profit
Technical Stuff
Altcha Verification: Instead of Google's reCAPTCHA (which tracks you), we use Altcha - a privacy-focused, GDPR-compliant verification system that doesn't track users or use cookies.
Rate Limiting: We temporarily store IP addresses to prevent spam (2-minute cooldown between submissions). This data is automatically cleaned up.
Server Logs: Like any website, our server keeps basic access logs for security and debugging. These aren't used for tracking or analytics.
Data Retention
- Account data: Kept until you delete your account
- Posted content: Stays on the site unless you're a registered user and delete it
- Anonymous content: Stays forever (since there's no account to link it to for deletion)
- IP addresses: Rate limiting data auto-expires, server logs rotated periodically
Your Rights
If you have an account:
- View your data: It's all visible in your profile
- Delete your account: Contact us and we'll nuke it
- Export your data: We can provide what we have if you ask
If you submitted anonymous content: Tough luck. That was the point of being anonymous.
Legal Compliance
We comply with applicable privacy laws (GDPR, etc.). If law enforcement shows up with a valid warrant, we'll comply with legal requirements. We're not going to jail for you.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Check back occasionally if you care.

The Real Talk
Look, here's the deal: We built this platform because we wanted a place to share and discuss content without Big Tech's surveillance capitalism bullshit. We collect the absolute minimum data needed to make the site work, and we don't monetize your information.
If you're not comfortable with what we store (which is basically just your posts and login info), then this platform isn't for you. There are plenty of other places on the internet where you can get tracked, profiled, and advertised to.
We're not perfect, but we're honest. This is what we do, take it or leave it.
